For the most part muscle soreness or pain after exercising (usually the next day) is a result of lactic acid build up. Its unlikely that it is caused by an injury, but if the pain persists over many days unchanging or accompanied with swelling, its possible. In that case, rest, ice, compresion, and elavation. Or go and see a doctor.
Anyway.
Muscle soreness after exercising is a common complaint. I think that it is where the saying,
“No pain, No gain”
comes from.
Because when you challenge yourself physically its inevitable that your muscles will feel sore. Its okay. The best way to get over it is more exercise. Working those muscles that are sore will get your blood pumping and the flow of blood will help to rid your muscle of the lactic acid that has built up.
So if yesterday you did a bunch of calf raises and now your calfs are on fire due to the lactic acid, throughout your day do a few calf raises and small jumps don’t work them as hard as you did the day before, just give them enought to get the blood pumping. Although it may be difficult to do so, suck it up and do it anyway.
And keep on exercising eventually the muscle soreness after exercising will start to subside and you will simply feel fantastic. :D
