Can we just pause a minute so I can let a solitary tear roll down my cheek…..
A baby catcher by Peggy Vincent.
This book was so well written.
I didn’t think I would like it.
I mean come on, the title, A baby catcher.
the author Peggy Vincent, a midwife.
I was certain it wasn’t for me.
Not because I have a problem with babies or midwives, but because I am not a midwife and I don’t plan to have anymore babies.
Why in the world would I like a book about both?
Well, I didn’t just like it, I loved it!
I was captured in the first chapter, draged into the hospital delivery room of a young, skinny, naked, black woman, running circles on top of her hospital bed.
I looked around made myself comfortable and took a front row seat to the adventure of not only birthing a child, but catching one as well.
I stuck around and rolled my eyes in understanding, gasped in surprise, wallowed in nostalgia, and cried over each happy ending.
I loved A Baby Catcher by Peggy Vincent.
I think it’s one of the best pieces of literature an expectant mom could read to prepare herself for the joy of childbirth.
And
I think it’s a fun read for any woman who has joined the “I’ve had a baby” motherhood club.
Give it a try, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did :D
